Geoagiu-Băi Resort
From an administrative point of view, Geoagiu Băi resort is a composing part of the city of Geoagiu, located at about 6 km away. The resort is one of the oldest spa operations in Romania, dating from the Roman colonization period. The healing properties of these mineral waters have been known since Dacian times. Thermal waters started to be used systematically, on a larger scale, especially since the beginning of the 20th century, when the first spa units were built.
The Geoagiu Băi resort is located at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level, with a comforting and invigorating climate with small variations in temperature, mild winters and pleasant summers.
In 2010, Geoagiu Băi competed in the EDEN (European Destinations of Excellence) contest and won the „European Destination of Excellence in Romania” title, with a project that focused on aquatic tourism.
